1. It’s a record-breaking Dubai attraction.
The IMAGINE laser, light and water show is a nightly event which has won two Guinness World Records; that is, as the world’s largest water screen projection, and for having the largest permanent projection mapping worldwide.
This grand production harnesses the power of water, light, fire, surround sound and laser technology to create a stunningly magical visual presentation. The fountains are already a treat in and of themselves, but when the various elements of IMAGINE are combined, what you’ll get is an awe-inspiring, enchanting experience. No wonder every IMAGINE show always ends with a resounding applause.
2. Admission is free.
Dubai Festival City Mall provides IMAGINE entertainment totally free of charge. This means that shoppers at the mall get the added bonus of watching the IMAGINE laser, light and water show.
IMAGINE is held at the Festival Bay area during weekdays (Monday to Thursday), from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (every hour), and on weekends (Friday to Sunday), from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (every hour).
One of the most highly anticipated attractions is the Stardancer Show which starts at 7 p.m. The other regular shows include ‘A Child’s Dream’ and ‘A Pirate’s Tale.’
You can actually watch the show while enjoying a meal with family and friends at any of the waterfront restaurants. Of course, you can stay at Festival Bay too in order to experience IMAGINE up close.
3. Dubai Festival City Mall is adding more exciting shows this summer.
Fans of the various IMAGINE shows would be very happy to know that the mall is adding more show-stopping spectacles to the programme this summer.
Dubai Festival City Mall has partnered with the Anghami streaming platform, and is adding popular new hits to the IMAGINE show, featuring ‘Momken’ by Saif Nabeel and Balquees, and ‘Bad Habits’ by Ed Sheeran.
So, prepare to be amazed and captivated some more by the music of Saif Nabeel and Balquees, and get ready to dance to Ed Sheeran’s tune the next time you watch IMAGINE.
4. Everything the mall has to offer is close by.
Whether you’re going to Dubai Festival City Mall to shop or watch IMAGINE, you and your family can actually make a day of it by going there early. At the mall, you’re sure to find some of your favourite shops and entertainment centres.
You could even finish grocery shopping at the hypermarket and indulge your cravings at your preferred restaurants. You can also go to IKEA and go furniture hunting or window shopping.
At the end of the day, you can cap off your visit to Dubai Festival City Mall by having dinner at one of the restaurants by the waterfront, and indulging in some IMAGINE entertainment. You can also hang out at Festival Bay to be closer to where the action is.
Getting there
If you’re on holiday in Dubai, there are three ways for you to get to the Dubai Festival City Mall other than via a rented car.
- Taxi: Take a cab from wherever your hotel is located, and ask to be driven to the mall directly.
- Bus: Board the Bus No. 53 from the Gold Souq Bus Station in Deira or at any of its designated stops along the way, including Naif Park, Baniyas Square, Memorial Plaza, Etisalat Head Office, Maktoum Road, Clock Tower R/A, Dnata or City Centre Metro Bus Stop. You can then alight at Dubai Festival City Marks & Spencer or Dubai Festival City IKEA.
- Dubai Metro: This is the least preferred mode of transportation when going to Dubai Festival City Mall as the nearest stations on the red line (Emirates Metro Station) and green line (Al Jadaf and Creek Metro Station) are around two kilometres away from the mall. But if you don’t mind taking a walk or a cab from the Dubai Metro, then this option is still worth considering.
The mall is open from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. during weekdays (Monday to Thursday), and from 10 a.m. to midnight during weekends (Friday to Sunday).
